I genuinely enjoyed what XY brought to the table in spite of its flaws, and tried to rationalise ORAS being mediocre as an inevitability of GFs resources being concentrated on the 20th anniversary game.
I had so much hope Z would be the perfect Pokémon game, where most, if not all, the flaws of Gen 6 would be fixed and it would provide the definitive experience for long-time and new fans alike, that the moment Sun and Moon became a reality and were such a clearly rushed mess, I simply stopped caring.
I eventually pirated Moon and Ultra Moon but didn't find them enjoyable and struggled to complete them.
Now I just play VGC on Showdown sometimes and QOL romhacks, and check this place once or twice a month.
