Otherwise it was just using melee combinations without being explicitly instructed. It's not like Gurkinn told his Lucario exactly what moves to use with Bone Rush. He also didn't explicitly tell it to block against Mega Luc when it attacked Pikachu. It just knew its trainer's intentions and acted on them. Same as Korrina's Lucario.
