>>35115865Agreed. If they were ever gonna move on from ash this would have been the perfect time. He had an actual team of interesting Pokemon and made it to the final round. He's already proven to be able to beat Diantha by this point in the series as well. To me it seems obvious that the team making the XY anime really wanted ash to win this time around, but we aren't allowed to have an anime without ash for some reason. And now they have completely destroyed any development XY made and ash is doomed to be the shitty protagonist in every new anime now.
