I've found 70 shinies this game already and for so many of them a sound cue would've been better than trying to zoom in on mouse shirts, individually testing every igglybuff that gets extra bad when a tree shadow gets involved, the two different orange Tatsugiri shinies that also fall victim to terrible lighting conditions or water spawn issues, but to mention the currently broken outbreaks forcing a single form if you wanted to hunt a different form, or how about tadbulb whose outbreaks almost exclusively spawn in water on top of hiding in the water in clumps of 4 to 5 stacked on top of each other making it incredibly hard to not just tell if there's a shiny, but make it a nightmare just to target it to start the battle
Also you absolutely didn't hunt in PLA if you believe it went too far, since so many can still spawn off the screen as you're moving around and you'll be running around paranoid for 10 more minutes while the gross yellow evening lighting makes it impossible to tell the difference between the isolated bibarel spawns
