There is a /vp/ myth that the most current generaiton is always the most hated, but gens 6 and 7 are still not loved. Gen 5 only got more controversial from people being contratian about it being popular and being considered the peak or at least last decent ones.
The point is I think this line of thinking is wrong and that gen 8 will not be fondly remembered years from now
