God this is so stupid, I already knew your keys reset when you start a new game but tonight I tried transferring over my challenge mode key to white 2, then resetting my black 2 and transferring it back, only to be hit with this. It's so ridiculously roundabout that it's like they never wanted you to play through a new file on one of the alternate difficulties.
