There are things that work for some series and not others. No one would want a Pokemon game set on Mount Wario even though Mount Wario is a fan favorite map in Mario Kart. Pokemon is meant to be an adventure series. There's a reason no one cares about Detective Pikachu or Pokemon Trozei.

That discordance is also why nu-Pokemon sucks so much ass. Game Freak doesn't remember what made Gens 1 - 5 so special. You're not going on an adventure anymore, you're going on a guided tour with your "friends". The way you make your way through the game is heavily moderated by the very visible hand of the developers. Even as early as Gen 2 you could see Game Freak taking away the feeling of your solo adventure some with Silver and Lance. It only built and built until by Gen 6 you couldn't be alone for more than a route or two without getting into more story. It's as much of a gameplay::game design mismatch as a hypothetical "Tales of" game with a singular silent protagonist.

Say what you will, but I think the most shocking things from this round of tier updates is how far Zamazenta, Serperior, and Walking Wake have fallen. Zamazenta might be the first box legend to ever end up in UU.

Even crazier than that is that Iron Valiant isn't even top 10 in usage anymore, and Deoxys-S, Darkrai, and Kyurem didn't make the cut off for top 10 either. By Gen 11 we're going to have Mewtwo in OU and it's going to be #15 by usage.

Sleep Clause was a good thing. There's no other way to balance a status condition that effectively removes a Pokemon from the game. The biggest issue with competitive Pokemon is the miss chance on moves.

Moth can't run physical or mixed sets. The most it can do besides running Fiery Dance + Sludge Wave + Tera Blast is run a utility set with Toxic Spikes or something, and no one is using Moth for that. It might hit harder than Valiant on the special side (120 vs 140), but Valiant also has 130 physical attack and a noticeably higher speed tier. Fairy is also far and away the best type in the game.

The playerbase has voted in favor of every ban by >50%. They only failed to reach a 60% majority to ban Kingambit and Terastallization, though they got very close. Only 45% of players were okay with Kingambit, and only 41% with Terastallization. A sizeable majority of players wanted the bans. If it were simple majority rules, every single ban would've succeeded this generation.

Lando isn't even better than Gliscor. Gliscor currently has more usage than Lando-T. All it took was taking away Knock Off, Defog, and Toxic from Lando for it to see less usage than Gliscor. All 3 are just utility moves, proving that Lando was primarily a utility Pokemon.
