an example of a cuck combo: bug/poison in gen 1. bug was the only type that could do lots of damage to psychic types but gamefreak made almost all bug pokemon bug/poison so that psychic types could kill them easily. the psychic pokemon virtually all had better stats than virtually all bug pokemon in gen 1 so this made bug/poison into a cuck combo.
