It's selling itself off of being easier than other Pokemon games, and appealing to GOfags, who were never going to buy a console and accessories just to get the full experience. It's asinine how retarded Gamefreak is. They have a core audience who have consistently bought the main games, with sales any other franchise would kill for, and yet instead of trying to appeal to that audience, they go after a phantom audience that is only super dedicated to Gen 1. Those people don't exist. Anyone who is dedicated to Pokemon, generally are dedicated to all gens of Pokemon.
The people who bought GO are the same retards who buy other mobile games because they are cheap and easy to get. GO was successful model because of that and they heard or played Pokemon at one point, not because they loved Kanto so much (most of them didn't even know the name of the region back then).
It's quite ironic Gamefreak in all their attempts to make LGPE accessible, they decide to have the price be not as accessible, when it's the very thing that kept GO sales strong.
