Well that was a fun experience.
Having Minimize right off the bat from level 1 was insane but I can see why it's at level 1, you don't find Oilslams at a low enough level to have it so you'd probably have to Move Relearner it.
I expected Power Trip to one-shot everything but was surprised when even +6 attack, +6 defense and +6 evasion wasn't enough. You'd think a 380 base power move with STAB coming off of a +6 attack boost would kill things every time.
I underestimated just how valuable adding/removing moves to influence the AI is before doing this, just adding Cut to my Isissin's moveset made the AI more reluctant to switch into their fairy types which was a huge help when fighting Lil' Bro in the Ruse Cruise. That Honrade's Sacred Sword is a hell of a move, ignoring both my defense and evasion buffs and there was no way I could beat him without Cut because he'd consistently switch to Honrade before I could even think about setting up.
I really wanted to make use of Toxic Spikes and Merciless but Dream Pill gives you Blademaster. Blademaster is quite useful before level ~50 when you're relying on Night Slash to attack but once you get Power Trip it's basically useless. Though it does have a use, unlike the other two abilities which are completely contradictory. Poison Point relies on you getting hit and when your gameplan is to boost to +6 evasion and not get hit there's no reason to have it. Flare Boost boosts Special Attack when burnt and there's no reason to boost Special Attack on a physical attacker.
Having to swap out moves whenever you come up to a HM spot wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Most of the HM moves are actually good moves now and they help with preserving PP while going through a route, considering Minimize and Power Trip both have 10PP. You do have to swap out your current HM move for your preferred TM move when doing a difficult fight but as long as you don't walk right into a mandatory fight without swapping moves again you'll be fine.
