Ragyo's motivation may fall under the usual handwave of Cthulhu-esque "You cannot grasp the true form" stuff, but hardly anyone protests those kinds of motivations as long as the source phlebotinum is sufficiently cosmic. Not to mention it's just easier and way less Freudian.
