>>55103819As one tick of overworld poison damage only does 1HP, overworld poison is at its most dangerous at the very earliest hours of the game. Afterwards it becomes a complete joke, if you didn't go through the trouble of stocking up on Antidotes it's not much of an issue to just go the rest of the route afflicted by poison as long as it's not killing you in any battles.
Overworld poison should also increase in potency as levels and HP values rise for it to be a relevant inconvenience that the player *wants* to find workarounds for (such as bringing healing items). But we all know it was removed from the game not for gameplay balance reasons or even because it was 'unfun' for most players, Game Freak did it because they didn't want to deal with the headache of designing around the softlocking and sequence breaking potential from having your party wiped out at specific setpieces.
