It's the year 2016.
GameFreak has just announced that the Pokemon franchise will come to an end this year after they release their final game, which also happens to be the first (and only) game to be part of Generation 7. They want this game to be the game that Pokemon fans have always dreamed of. The game takes place in a brand new and incredibly large region. So big in fact that it is the home to around 280 brand new Pokemon, bringing the total count to 1,000. In addition to this, every type combination that doesn't yet exist is covered by Pokemon in this 280. The story is by far the best and most in-depth a Pokemon game has ever had, because not only does it take place in this new region, it spans across Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos as well. That's right, every single main series region is present in this game.
Not only this, but you can fully explore each and every one of these in beautiful new graphics. Nothing is missing. Every single Pokemon that the main series has featured is obtainable in this game. All 1,000 of them. Even the event legendaries (however they are post-game and difficult to obtain). After completing the league in the new region, the story progresses into the next region, so on and so forth, until all seven regions have been completed. You then travel back to the new region for the ultimate and final showdown of the main story, defeating the final boss and saving the world from the most real threat it's ever had.
Once post-game begins, all Pokemon will be findable and all regions re-visitable. There may even be some great new hidden areas in old regions that get discovered. And the absolute best thing about all of this: GameFreak doesn't publicise the fact you can revisit every region and obtain every Pokemon. CoroCoro doesn't show it either. The game is released worldwide on the same date. The game cart and console still hasn't been hacked and it's not looking good. It can't be datamined.
We get to discover everything.
