I'd been told holographic cards were rare, so that was pretty cool. That was enough to solidify him as my favorite during Gen I. So when GS came out and I learned my favorite bro got an evolution - and a Steel-type one, at that - I was ecstatic. Love the design; been a Scizor fan ever since.
