And hey, fun fact about that Psyshield Bash tidbit! Prior to DLC2, you also weren't able to evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil, even if it knew and used Barb Barrage a bunch, because the evolution method was still tied to Fighting Styles.
You know what DID happen in DLC2, though? They changed the evolution method. They made it NO LONGER REQUIRE FIGHTING STYLES and instead for Qwilfish to simply KNOW the move to evolve on level up.
So stop being such a COCKSUCKER in thinking GameFreak actually cares THAT MUCH about the worldbuilding and lore.
Because if they did, you know what? They would have came in and told OLM "no, Perrin can't say that about Hisuian Pokemon, that isn't accurate to our worldbuilding" if they were ACTUALLY meant to be "lost/extinct evolutions" because they REGULARLY MEET UP WITH OLM TO OVERSEE THE ANIME AND ENSURE IT MEETS THEIR STANDARDS.
