I was concerned since the game is condensed to only Lumiose the characters wouldn't matter but to my surprise its because the story revolves towards 1 city all the characters remains prevalent from beginning to end which is fantastic. GameFreak could easily ignore the characters once their debut ends but they chose to have everyone continue to appear in the main story. Even the NPC side missions have reoccurring NPCs you once did missions for early game and later you do more missions for them.
