I haven't bought a new Pokemon game since Sun/Moon because of pic related. Out of all approaches TPC has done in their history, this game was their biggest dick move, invalidating a whole mainline game (SM) within the span of one year. Even what SwSh is doing right now wasn't nearly as bad in comparison. Speaking of which, it's looking pretty decent to make up for the lack of content Gen 8 has been said to have.

- New stories added to the main games (instead of a revision of them with bad changes, like usum and lusamine's plot with 10 minutes necrozma's battle)
- TWO new wild area (= an entire new region to explore since Wild Area are half of Galar, instead of 1-2 new small zones like the Pikachu valley or something like that)
- New co-op mode (instead of a useless Mantine minigame)
>All at 30 dollars instead of 45 (gb and ds games)/60 (switch games)

- FREE new (and old) Pokémon added (we already have 10 new including the galarian forms of Slowpoke and the birds) and new Gigantamax forms

Cutted content or not (probably ideas that GF wanted to include in the game but without time, since they showed just concept art and 5 seconds of footage), this is good for us. I respect who is against this, but it's not a bad thing for us.

USUM wasn't that bad imo. It just suffered from having too many cutscenes and being released as a second version (instead of being the first version outright). I liked Gen 7's approach to the formula and how the Trials worked (fighting a massive boss Pokemon with two helpers was more fun than sweeping some nobody with 3 monotype pokemon). The difficulty was on point (except maybe Ultra Necrozma for some) which was one of SM's biggest flaws. My only problems with it are the cutscenes and the linearity. I nevertheless had a great time with USUM and the Ultra Beasts and Island Guardians are a really fucking cool concept too. It just sucks that it's sandwiched between the shittier games of the franchise, notably XY, LGPE, and SwSh. What are your thoughts on Gen 7 /vp/? Genuine question.
