The bizarre jumping animations didn't tie into anything about the line as a whole or any other aspects of Eelektross at all. Fuck, the dex even describes it dragging its body along with its claws while on land. In stark contrast to the gen V animation.
Pick related is a great way to portray Eelektross standing. Like some eerie deep sea creature, not some overly ecstatic clown.
