>>32981941I think more about having humans that could work within the Pokemon Adventures manga's ruleset. Which, at least in my eyes, makes my characters feel kind of flat in terms of how they're regular people, but I shrug and smile despite those feelings, because a part of why I design my trainers the way they do is because they're all just... People.
To me, the Pokemon world is fascinating, it's a world where bonds between humans and Pokemon give birth to immense strength, so I try to write my characters with problems based around how the world looks at them. and how they handle these strange murderbeasts that can fit in your pocket.
That said, I do have a big problem when it comes to having color palettes that are actually TOO colorful. I try to stick to 3 colors max when it comes to a design, but that's because I grew up on reading series that features characters with a wide range of colors for their protagonists.
