good news is I managed to fudge a win against his Murkrow with a mix of Smog from Fester and Leech Seed and Curse from Milan.
bad news is everyone else is gone and in my shock and grief (after screenshotting) I shut down the game when I meant to minimize, and I'm pretty sure I haven't saved since I was grinding before Crasher Wake's gym battle.
