Psychic types had no types that resisted it.
Psychic types were only weak to pin missile jolteon (not even a stab move) and twineedle beedrill (weak to psychic)
The special stat was used to calculate sp.def and sp.atk, so psychic types (with high sp.atk) also had high sp.def., which made them overpowered.
Ghost type moves (initially thought to be strong against psychic types) caused literally no effect on psychic types. Also LICK was the only ghost type move.
The only ghost types were WEAK to psychic.
So is this balanced? Could this be corrected without new types? Is the current game broken like this was?
