>>53563911>>53563922I don't mind it but i feel like the alain rematch is a liitle too fanservicey as at this point ash is the world champion and really we already know he will win, also feels like an unnecessary reason to bring greninja back into the story. Perhaps team rocket could be stealing powerful pokemon and using their mind control machine on them as part of their plan, this would help set up the mewtwo thing earlier and make the story a bit more cohesive too. Ash could call on greninja to assist alain in rescuing his charizard and they take it down together while it's hypnotized.
i think 10 episodes makes it kinda hard to do a finale series if you're also going to revisit every region, where you need to give a spotlight to all the old characters each time. A few more episodes of breathing room with quieter/filler kind of plots would give ash more time to reflect on what his goals are. But I know this guy is trying to fit in the 10 episodes they decided to do.
I would've left team rockets ending a little more vague as well, perhaps rather than taking such an active moral stance or standing up for ash & co specifically they could've just thought it was a smidge too far (or maybe they just realise it'd impact them negatively as well). You could even have a cute little scene where they steal pikachu during all the fighting and retreat back to base, where they then have their little change of heart and team up with pikachu to sneak around and destroy the mind control machine. Fun payoff to all the years of pika stealing and leaves it up to the audience to decide whether team rocket is truly good now, but tells us they're not purely committed to evil either
idk it really could've benefited from being a longer series or a movie anyway
