Pic related. Before Gen VI, I just kept my starter on my team and raised a few Pokemon that I thought were cool. I never really thought about who I liked the most; I just had a few favorite 'mons.
But this little guy/girl (either gender is fine) isn't weak against your "badass" Garchomp and can take all of your Earthquakes head on, because this guy is a fucking Special tank.
It takes a hit, and hits back.
