Just look at OP's pic. A massive tourist area. You just know the workers are getting pennies and crawling back to their pods each night while Delia gets to slut around Pallet Town from her picturesque rural acreage funded by the taxpayer.
The one upside is that human civilization seems small with most of the world being wilderness. Catch some Pokemon, go innawoods, live off the grid on the bounty of nature. The Pokemon world is full of opportunity as it allows you to reject the system far easier than reality.
