The only reason of Fairy type - is an opposite to a Dark - type. Like.. Faiy\Light vs Evil\Dark, but still it's TOO LATE for that. Too many pokemon and too many generations to make a new type that will make all previous ones look useless.
Think about anime for example? How they will explain all previous episodes? (not like i watch it)
