Meanwhile, with the Alan battle, not only did we NOT know anything like that (it was the finals, the league was ending that episode no matter if he won or lost), but marketing had been very heavily suggesting he was going to win, to the fucking point of naming the episode itself "Kalos League Victory" in some fucking "didn't tell you whose victory lol" troll move.
Also people were absolutely pissmad about Tobias too, it was just a different kind of mad.
