Gengar’s design has always looked awkward and bland to me; like, the face feels too small for the body and the transition into a weird Cheshire Cat thing both doesn’t work with the existing family’s theme and clashes with how the whole thing seems to have a want for a “round body type” going on
A personal pet peeve is that it also doesn’t look poison-type at all, but that’s also a problem with Haunter so meh not really gengar’s thing.
Seriously though- what is the appeal? Can someone please explain it? Gengar’s one of my least favorite ghosts and I do not understand its wild popularity at all, it makes me feel kinda left out lol
