RBY is one of the most fun games to revisit because of how it opens up around Vermillion City. It's not *so* buggy or intrusive that it's like unplayable or anything.
Sinnoh is slow, but in some areas that is part of the atmosphere. Like the walk up Mt. Coronet is long and tedious, with the soundtrack escalating as you go further up.
XY mid-game is actually cool because you get the upper half of Lumiose City, and it acts like a hub zone for the rest of the game.
I'm not the biggest fan of the more human-centric plots in Pokemon (like BW or SM). I get why people are attached to those, I just always been more interested in Pokemon's setting and monsters than any specifc person or stuff like character arcs.
