The screen is so small, it starts hurting your eyes in little time, even without 3D. You just see shit better on the XL, especially for games like platformers that sometimes require some attention to detail.
Not to mention, the material of which it is made of is better in every sense. Fucking original 3DS is a fingerprint magnet. Looks disgusting.
