took me two tries to reach 50. After the first failure (@46) I decided to switch leads making hydreigon lead instead of marowak and switched earthquake to crunch on gyarados. crunch got better results.Type wise this team has some good synergy. Hydreigon's purpose is to nuke someone with devastating drake turn one and hopefully take them out. higher up in the ladder (40+) some opposing mons are bulky enough to tank a drake so choose wisely on which mon to nuke. If he's threatened just switch to marowak since he covers almost all of hydreigon's weaknesses (primarina covers the dragon), or switch into marowak when you know the opponent is going to throw an electric attack out and get a d.dance with gyarados. being able to switch types with gyarados is very good but you have to know when it's appropriate when to mega evolve and not. there were plenty of times where I didnt mega evolve and you dont always need to because regular gyarados still hits pretty hard. Decided to test out the primarina set that's been going around and its very good. You could probably take out psychic for ice beam though I dont think it matters. The marowak ev set up was taken straight from smogon, you could probably invest some speed evs into more bulk if you want. The only difficult encounter I really had was at @49 against an all fairy trainer that used gardevoir, mega mawile, mimikyu, and sylveon. Blue encounter had easy mons so I 4-0'd him.
