The exact reason people defend Gen 3 in spite of its numerous fault is because it was their first Pokemon game and they have nostalgia for it. RSE weren't good games by any means.
They were fucking dogshit games with terrible design and story issues and the absolute worst regional dex in the entire franchise and its not even fucking close. Everyone running Starter/Gardevoir/Swellow/HM slave is proof of this. They are some of the worst games in the series alongside XY and Aslowla.
ORAS being remakes with worse difficulty, art design, and music will do nothing but highlight how dogshit Sinnoh is as a region. Phoebe, Glacia, and Drake running fucking duplicate Pokémon since Hoenn is so creatively sterile it infected the game designers to the point they couldn’t come up with thematically appropriate off-type Pokémon until postgame. The Pokémon distribution was just embarassing, even with ORAS adding in cross-gens.
The ONLY redeeming quality of Gen 3 were the Kanto remakes. Real talk. Stop deluding yourselves /vp/, RSE were never good games. Your nostalgia for when the world was a less cringeworthy SJW shithole and your boner for May and Steven are responsible for clouding your judgement.
