I don't mean just the random passersby who are just like "Pokemon r great c:", but the whole plot (so to speak) of the game and the convoluted metaphors it makes about life and friendship using the pokemon. But instead of actually working as metaphors, they wind up talking way more about how pokemon are awesome instead of whatever they were ostensibly about. Which makes sense given the subject matter, but the fact the game builds this dramatic plot around it just makes the whole thing uncomfortable and weird.
I've already bought the game, do they really need to keep selling me on it?
