My guess is that YW4 sold so little comparatively because the series went two full years without a main game, unlike Pokemon and many other series that release games yearly to keep up the momentum. I'm optimistic about the game's quality speaking for itself in the long run though, especially when the new patched monsters and the ps4 release come out.
