what hurts the most is i can still have fun with the older games mostly anything that's not alola but there's definitely been a dip in quality since 2013. I want to hope they can learn from their mistakes and deliver a game I'll love, but if they keep focusing on a plot that nobody cares about at the cost of region and dungeon design, I don't want any part of it. Gen 7 to me just felt like them phoning it in because "fuck it it's the 3ds, the switch is coming out eventually anyways"
Gen 8 will be a turning point for a lot of people, I feel. This game's been hyped up since before it was announced, with terms like "what everyone has been waiting for" and "for people experienced with the series" but these are all empty words to me until i see what things are like after release.
