I was born and raised in Celadon City, but on my 12th birthday I was given a hardy Sandshrew as a gift, and was allowed to go on a Pokemon Journey to become the best that there ever was.
As an inexperienced trainer I tried to battle Erika with my Sandshrew, but she made short work of me. I then traveled East toward Saffron City, hoping to find an easier challenge there. It was there that I encountered a hasty Growlithe, which I figured could help me defeat Erika eventually.
I was no match for Sabrina either, but I heard of a renowned dojo and headed there to refine my training skills. As I trained under the tutelage of Sensei Koichi, I grew close to a very bold Tyrogue in his possession, who eventually joined my party after Koichi realized the bond we had created.
Tyrogue and Growlithe would clash in many occasions, both wishing to assert their dominance over the other, and motivating each other to get stronger as a result.
I returned to Celadon in order to rematch Erika, who was no match for the fiery Growlithe. Triumphant over my victory I headed to the city's pond to celebrate and have a nice little picnic with my team, when suddenly a very relaxed Slowpoke approached us and started demanding food. After feasting on over half of the food, he decided to join my team, growing my party's size to four.
I then headed South toward Fuscia City, hoping to catch some rare Pokemon in the safari zone. After much stalking I managed to corner and catch a very adamant Scyther, who did not seemed please with the idea of such a novice trainer ordering him around. I was satisfied with my new Pokemon, but there was still some time left, thus I decided to sit down and enjoy a quiet fishing session. Much to my surprise, a timid Dratini bit the hook, and went down without a fight, giving me a full party of 6.
