I've been a big fan of Bug types since Gen 1. Beedrill, Scyther, and Pinsir were just badass to my child self, as everyone knows sharp limbs is automatically cool to children. I cried when Ash let Butterfree go, and I always liked the big goofy eyes of Venonat. The only one I was never a big fan of back then was the Paras line, but ever since catching one during a nuzlocke a few weeks back, they became total bros. Even if Paras doesn't learn many good moves in Gen I, Dig alone can turn it into your team's MVP.
Other than Gen 3, and 4 slightly (bless Yanmega), I have been extremely pleased to retain Bug type as my favorite type.
