My reasoning was, since this is a "double elimination" tournament, losing one match (one best-of-three) or forfeiting one match (though I forgot to add forfeit to the rules since, who does that?), would count as a "single elimination." Technically my jargon is not the best for the autistic and well-seasoned, but for your average joe, it makes sense, and since we re-wrote the rules, no one has fought over this or has been visibly confused by it.
