At least ice-type has Powder Snow, Avalanche, Weather Ball and Icicle Spear. Types like bug and fire have to rely on okay stat altering moves to be relevant (Lunge and Flame Charge) and all these types in general are stuck with fast moves that are either pretty powerful but WAY too slow, energy generators that can be best compared as worse versions of Lock-On, and moves that are, relatively speaking, strictly worse to every other option.
I've gotten 4 million stardust in the past 5 months exclusively from doing GBL, and when I can use the things that I like the game is kind of fun, but this game mode has slowly become completely unbearable because most of my favorite types demand that I use very specific picks because Niantic refuses to buff the types and moves that actually need buffs to balance things out. The past two move updates looked really cool on paper, but most of the changes were nerfs to some moves while buffing types like fighting, fairy and normal-type, types that are already extremely common in GBL. The majority of the other changes either gave more coverage to the already A/S-tier types or allowed more C/D-tier types to use deboofing moves (mainly Psychic Fangs).
I'm so tired of having to use Galvantula, Escavalier, Scizor or (theoretically) Forretress just so that I can actually win with a bug-type. I'm so tired of having to use Froslass, Abomasnow or Walrein just so that I can actually win with an ice-type. As much as I care about getting stardust so that I can have better raid teams for soloing megas, being mindbroken by GBL wasn't worth it just so that I would end up getting bored by the lack of variety, which is also arguably a problem with raids as well (couldn't find a single person besides myself using a full team of bugs during any Hoopa Unbound raids).
