>>36662805Tyranitar and Aggron are more godzilla-based than dinosaur-based. Maybe it's just me but I always feel like fossils are unique even though there's other pokemon based on dinosaurs. Maybe it's that fossils aren't just rock-type but it's really clear in their designs (like Tyrantrum looking like it's literally made of crumbling rock). That seems to be the main thing that sets fossils apart.
It would be cool to see more unique fossils and I think GameFreak is warming up to the idea. I just think they shouldn't be restricted to not having dinosaur-based fossils AND dinosaur-based pokemon. Things like Meganium and Tropius exist but you wouldn't mistake them for fossils.
