They’re soft and cute versions of my favorite Pokémon, and they are often a lot bigger than a figure can typically be at a much better price. There are tons of rare and obscure plush as well, which make the thrill of the hunt enjoyable. Pic related is a very obscure, tiny little plush from the early days of the franchise; it has an articulated head that can spin around 360° and paws that clip onto anything thin enough. It’s adorable and unique, and that’s what is so appealing. Other than the tactile part, the same logic could be applied to collecting figures, cards, or what have you. Collecting is fun if you know your limits.
