Mega Tyranitar, which is unfarily judged for just being extra spikes, is supposed to be Tyranitar having blown more holes in its armor from the extra power. The red segment on its belly, aside from forming an evil face, is the same one it had as a Larvitar which is now reexposed since the extra layer it gained as a Pupitar has peeled off.
