>>40298557Game Freak gave it a brand new and most likely unique anti-poison status ability. There was no reason they couldn't have extended its effects to making it reduce or completely nullify Poison-type damage if they were that concerned about it being weak to Poison-type. That would have actually been a great ability for a Fairy-type to have and would have given it a useful niche.
