Of course there is a feral innocence to them, especially how they behave in their interactions with each other and the player like so:
https://mobile.twitter.com/envious_fairy/status/1490310776321679373Creatures who, except very few examples in the games, cannot communicate with you but they can with each other, who have others speak for them such as the NPC who tells you they want to be friendly and generally just being calm, eating hay and chilling in a pasture. Even when the game has them try to kill you it never paints it as a malicious act, indeed even Kamado is portrayed as being misguided even if he lost his wife and friends to wild Pokémon, you can't hold beasts accountable for acting like wild animals.
In guides meant to inform others they even say it themselves, Pokémon do not behave like humans nor do they talk and a lot of these guidelines are against humanizing Pokémon. It's all part of a carefully constructed imagem
