The most widespread and diverse group of terrestrial vertebrates, more species than mammals, and most folks lump them together. I've seen questions about whether an eagle eating a duck counts as cannibalism, when it's no closer than a human eating pork. The general public doesn't know or care much about birds.
Don't even get me started on the whole "Flying Pokémon are measured by wingspan" crap I've seen here. Bipeds are consistently measured by height. Braviary is not a third smaller than a real Bald Eagle, don't be ridiculous. The only one I don't understand the direction of measurement for is Crobat.
