>>51795412I know games aren't anime but it's kinda fucked they took a character who, in the games was meant to represent the passing of the torch between generations and just had her get stomped on by someone who would later be like "oh I think I'm gonna quit after this". If they wanted to do the sun-setter plot they should've had Alder in the Master's 8 be the one mentioning that no matter what happens this would be his swan song as champion. Granted this anime took 20 years before it let Ash become a champion so I guess it tracks they don't really understand the typical shonen format.
