I frequently hear it tossed around that "less choice =/= good meta" but I think Dynamax weather shit + a dex of, let's say, 350-400 Pokes could make for a potentially more balanced meta. After all, Gen 4 was generally agreed to have an excellent competitive scene and it had substantially less Pokemon than we have now.
All in all, I'm most excited to see what happens with VGC because I'm a VGC player first and foremost. I know it's typically limited to the regional dex year one anyways, but I think with a substantial enough dex size it could be a lot of fun.
