Johto arguably is too, but it’s actually pretty good for long-term pick-up-and-play which the others aren’t (nearly to the same extent) so it gets a pass. Sinnoh is kind of just the normal formula with a lot of kino sprinkled throughout arduous treks through the fog and snow route
and mt coronetI don’t think there’s anything worthwhile past gen 5. There is not a single good Kanto game (though at least gen 1 has an excuse), and I’d honestly want to take all of gen 3 with me for full pokedex-completion autism but I can’t so instead my favorite mainline game remains
