Pokémon Sword and Shield are games that from a technical standpoint have little to no advancements compared to the previous Pokémon main titles that have been released for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS respectively.
Let me explain this. The texture quality of many models apart from the Pokémon themselves are seemingly 256x256 to 512x512, your honor, something that is below the current game standard of 1024x1024 up to 2048x2048. The textures seem to have been upscaled to 1024x1024 from their 512x512 and lower quality textures, creating the pixilation and artifacts seen in the textures for the rocks, trees, and some of the other environmental models.
Their textures also lack normal mapping of any kind.
