And yes you have scenes like that but you also have scenes like this that clearly reinforce the notion that a Pokémon is a *pet* via visual cues. It's why I put emphasize on them being *anthropomorphic*. You can find similar scenes with any anthropomorphic pet, be it Scoobs or Courage, but they're still *pets* and also *animals*. It's far easier for them to get that point across because they're grounded in reality but Pokémon does this with visuals and in the games with how you interact with your Pokémon.
