It's sad that people don't know that Game Freak ALWAYS wanted poor Geeta to be the most pathetic and hated champion ever. You can't come to any other conclusion. It's impossible to think that everything went wrong. On the contrary, everything went right for Game Freak.
The only thing that can save Geeta is that in a DLC it will be revealed that she is the villain responsible for the death of the professors and use her real team (Glimmora, Kingambit + 4 powerful pokemon).
